Two momentous events happened today at lunch. Well, not really. In the grand scheme of this dreary Thursday though, they were momentous in their own way.

They happened during lunch. A pigeon walked up to me at lunch, tilted it’s beady little eye at me and cooed. I presume it was irritated that I had chosen to have a smoothie for lunch rather than whatever it thought I should be sharing with it. As he moved on to other victims, I noticed he had several tags on his skinny little legs (pigeon legs always amuse me, as they are often accompanied by rotund bodies). I stopped to wonder where this pigeon had been in its short life. Or long life, who knows. I wondered if this pigeon saw more of life than I did. Has he played witness to natural disasters? To lost loves reuniting? What’s the furthest he’s traveled? Why am I comparing my life to a pigeon?

The second event came on suddenly, probably due to the migraine forming at the top of my skull. I closed my eyes, wrinkled my nose, and scrunched up my face (you see, I was about to sneeze) and then this sound hit. The sound of a homeless man with a one man band, the sound of cars and horns, the sound of people carrying on conversations, and the sound of construction. It was at this very moment that I finally understood that this is what my head sounds like.

Breakfast: Banana-Almond Muesli

Lunch: Banana Berry Smoothie from Jamba Juice and a sourdough parmesan pretzel-$7

Dinner: Baked potato soup with salad with italian dressing

Exercise: None.

Feeling: Still so tired. Going to have to get up early tomorrow morning too for several appointments, so I’m not too thrilled about not being able to sleep in. I am also not doing well with the working out thing today. Really really going to have to double up and get serious this weekend. I also had some champagne tonight. So that’s the second night of some alcohol which I was trying not to have for the whole 40 days. Oh well. Live and learn. I think the most important thing is that I am having it rarely. It’s a treat, which is what it should be. It also lessens my tolerance which is probably for the best too.

Breakfast: Banana-Almond Muesli

Lunch: Quizno’s small italian on wheat, no onions and no olives with baked lays bbq potato chips

Dinner: Saltgrass steak with dad

Exercise: None

Feeling: Ate way too much for dinner, and I haven’t been sleeping good at all this whole week. I don’t know if it’s a general lack of enthusiasm or what it is exactly, but I just haven’t slept well, and I was especially tired already today and the steak pushed me over the edge. I’ll have to work out a lot more this weekend.

Feeling: sooooooo tired today

Breakfast: Banana-Almond Muesli

Lunch: Brisket BBQ and Sausage-$7

Dinner: Leftover Pluckers

Exercise: 30 Minute Breathing/Stretching Yoga class

Feeling: Much better today. The Yoga helped relax me at the end of the day, as I was stressing out a little at the beginning of the day. Nothing too intense on the exercise front but just a little a day is what’s important. Or what I keep telling myself anyway.

Breakfast: Nothing

Lunch: Ihop-didn’t pay

Dinner: Plucker’s boneless wings-didn’t pay

Exercise: Zumba, 20 Minute Beginner

Feeling: Decided to ease back into this exercise thing by doing the beginner Zumba, which was actually on par with what the workout is like at the intermediate level. I don’t know why they even bother having the first two levels anyway. Either way, worked up a good sweat which made me feel awesome.

Breakfast: Brown Cinnamon Sugar Oatmeal

Lunch: Sonic-Mozzarella sticks-for a snack only-$3

Dinner: Steak and salad at le parents house

Exercise: None-stayed out way too late

Feelings: Again, bombed on the exercise today. Gonna kill me later.

Breakfast: Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit $5

Lunch: smoothie

Dinner: chicken fettucine

Exercise: None

Feeling: So glad it’s Friday, but upset that I had to buy so much this week 😦 and I failed a little on the exercise side.

Breakfast: Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Taco $6

Lunch: Italian Sandwich $6

Dinner: Chicken nuggets-ChikFilA-didn’t pay

Exercise: None, went to Cirque du Soleil instead. Which was like a mind blowing brain workout of sensory overload in a good way.

Feeling: I wanna run away and join the circus. Cirque. Not like…the ones that mistreat their animals. Not those.
